Education and background of art & sociotherapy and Kompatia Life Fulfilling gameS®

Nonviolent Communication (NVC) & Kompátia – Life-Fulfilling Games®

My grandmother, Éva Hava Jónai, introduced Marshall Rosenberg’s method of NVC to Hungary. I was still a child when she and my mother, Júlia Redő, created Kompátia: a playful educational tool that combines drama pedagogy, games, and experiential learning to make NVC something to be lived rather than merely studied.

Growing up in this environment has deeply shaped the way I work. For me, language is not only a means of communication but also a conscious practice of connection.

After completing my studies in contemporary dance, I began facilitating NVC workshops using Kompátia, mostly alongside my mother. Teaching made me more aware of the methodology that had always been part of my life and allowed me to reflect on practices I had previously used intuitively. I believe an NVC workshop works best when everyone in the room is learning together, and my unusual relationship to the method provides a unique starting point for that shared process.

art & sociotherapy

In 2022, I created Lapok, a contemplative card game (more about it below). At first, I designed it solely for my own reflective practice, but as I began selling the deck at markets and events, more and more people started using it with me. Eventually, while I was facilitating a one-to-one session using Lapok, the person I was working with pointed out that the deck naturally functions as an art therapy tool.

This realization led me to study art and sociotherapy at MMSZKE (Hungarian Association for Art and Sociotherapy Community Building), where I completed my training in June 2026.

My final practicum consisted of a ten-week group process centred around the theme “Unmatched”.

lapok

Lapok is a contemplative card game that I created and illustrated. It is designed as a tool for self-reflection, helping people explore questions, situations, or challenges they are currently facing. Its methodology combines the symbolic language of Tarot, the creative processes of art therapy, and the observation-and-feedback practices of Nonviolent Communication.

Like an oracle deck, Lapok invites you to formulate a question and draw cards that activate intuition and free association, helping you discover your own answers. What makes Lapok unique is what happens next. By copying the drawing on the selected card and gradually transforming it into an image that reflects the direction in which you wish to move, you create a new picture of your own. This process activates creative agency, turning reflection into action and creating a personal visual pathway towards change.

Watch the introduction video to discover how it works. Lapok can be experienced individually, in a group, or in a guided session with me. Feel free to get in touch if you’d like to book a Lapok session or if you’d like a deck of your own. Only a few decks remain available.
